Peter’s Work
(& Play)

So here we are; the website of Peter Nielsen. First off, I think I should list the things that interest me and have found their way into these pages.

Painting – Sculpture – Clay Work – Mixed Media Artwork – Photography – Leathercraft – Jewelry Making – Gold Leafing – Tool Making – Toy Making – Carpentry – Bookbinding – Information on a Variety of topics – “How To” Instructions – Solution to Technical Problems – Personal Views – And even Clowning

Born in Liverpool, I spent all of my schooling years, and a few of my working years, in the U.S.A. Then on to Spain with my California bride who is still a good friend, although we’re no longer together. My “now” lady and I have been together a long time. So time is spent in the UK, Spain and Portugal, with an occasional visit to family in the US.

My Pages

As with many sites, clicking on a link at the top or bottom of the page will take you to another of my worlds.
This site is mostly about what I do, but of course, it will also be about who I am.
Most of the pages are in Gallery form, so clicking on one picture will bring up full screen images to move through. All of my work is ©.
For information about any of my work please contact me at the email address below.

The Pages

I will be expanding these descriptions in greater length on each page.

Fine Arts
The Fine Arts Gallery is the main motivation behind my setting up this website. Although I have had to work at other things, the creation of art pieces has been a central drive in my life. This includes Painting in oils and acrylics, drawing and printing, sculpting in clay, stone, wood and leather and creating constructions with an endless variety of materials,

Photos
I have been into photography for all my adult life. This is a small selection of the tens of thousands of shots I have taken over the years. Should you wish to use a photo for any reason, please contact me. I have put in a separate section to the Photos Gallery that is composed of Background Images. This section is free for you to use.

Craftwork
Side by side with my painting and sculpting I have always done craftwork. In my younger days Leather Work and Silversmithing had been the main source of my income. The Love of working with natural materials has always attracted me.

Tool Making & Tools
I have been extremely lucky when it comes to my tools. As a toddler my grandfather showed me how to use a hammer. My father was a skilled craftsman and passed his knowledge on to me. I enjoy making my own tools as much as I enjoy using them.

Stuff I’ve Done
I have been messing about with stuff for the last 60+ years and it still goes on. In the process of playing with lots of stuff I have amassed a substantial amount of knowledge. I would like to share some of this with you.

Younger Than That Now
Ah, but I was so much older then
I’m younger than that now”
